Moving to North Carolina but Don't Know which Town? Try Hillsborough
Moving to North Carolina is an Exciting New Adventure
If you are moving to Hillsborough, NC, you are moving to an area settled by the Occaneechi and Eno tribes who were still living here when the first Europeans "discovered" the area in 1701. The town was founded in 1754 and played a role in the Revolutionary War. We know how scary moving can be, especially if you are moving to North Carolina from across the country. You need a moving company that understands how to move you in without driving your new neighbors crazy with noise. Our goal is to prove to you that we are the company you can trust to transport your entire household from your old home to your new one with the utmost of care.
Whether you are moving to North Carolina from far away in another state or from just down the road, there is plenty here to keep you and your family busy exploring and having fun for a very long time. The Riverwalk is a 1.8-mile long trail that runs alongside the Eno River and connects with several other trails on the east side of Hillsborough. At any given time, you will find walkers, joggers, cyclists and many others using the walkway. It is also part of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, and one of the few located in an urban setting where you can find restrooms, restaurants, and places to go shopping.
At the Occaneechi/Orange Speedway you can find the last dirt track in NASCAR. The track was built in 1948; today the Historic Speedway Group is working to restore the track and all of the buildings to their heyday. The track hosts several car shows throughout the year along with many other events. Take a tour of the Historic Burwell School where you can learn about the trials and tribulations recorded by Anna Burwell between 1837 and 1857 as she ran the school for young ladies. You can also read the accounts of Elizabeth Hobbs who served here as a slave for seven years before earning her freedom.
